Day 26: Dear friends, please don’t invite me to the following events because I will not go.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized the power of saying no to things we simply do not care to do. The pressure of obligation and a clear schedule used to have me saying yes to a lot of things but I don’t feel the need to anymore. I’ve made it clear to my friends there are some things I just won’t go to like:
Engagement Parties + Wedding Showers
What the fuck is an engagement party? A celebration of getting married? Isn’t that what a wedding is?! I’m not getting you two gifts for the same thing. That makes no sense. You will be getting a dual income soon, so I think you actually owe ME a gift.
Gender Reveals
I don’t care if you’re having a boy or a girl or something else, you absolute weirdos. If you don’t get why it doesn’t matter at this point you won’t ever get it, but have fun setting your forest fires with blue flare guns!
Nightclubs That Have Weird Dress Codes
